This page contains information about gravesites, cemeteries, and other information related to persons who died while at the State Hospital (asylum) in Jacksonville, IL.

An excellent source for this information is the Jacksonville Area Genealogical & Historical Society. They have much information at their offices, and also have many links online.

The information on this page uses their information as sources (much gratitude), and expanded upon with my own research. Feel free to contact me with questions!

This is a .pdf download of some of the Morgan County Poorhouse and Farm residents buried at the State Hospital cemetery. They would have been transferred over, likely as dementia set in (as they were longtime residents of the poorhouse). [Photo credit: Samantha Knox]
